August 2016 Food and wine writer Shannon Borg, who used to live a few miles down the road from us out in Doe Bay, stopped by one day this summer to capture our lavender harvest. She took beautiful pictures of the Island Thyme farm and wrote up a great blog post about how we grow and use lavender in our natural bodycare products.
We loved how she gave the reader a real glimpse of what it's like to live on Orcas Island, from the daily drive we make through the forests of Moran State Park to the quaintness of the tiny town, Olga, where we live and work. Shannon also touched on the whole history of Island Thyme, starting from Eliza's interest in flowers and herbs and growing through our discovery of incredible ingredients from around the world.
The English Lavender we harvested that day is destined for this winter's batches of our special Orcas Lavender Soap. See the full post at shannonborg.com.
August 2016 Orcas Issues, the local online newspaper, ran a feature article on the history of Island Thyme on the occasion of our 20th anniversary. Get the story at OrcasIssues.com.
Our goal is to make you happy and confident in purchasing Island Thyme products.
We will do everything we can to make that so.
